SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2010:
3.500km long journey by road from Nairobi, Kenya, to Goma in Congo/DRC, via Uganda and Rwanda. I finish collecting footage for my documentary film on Rwanda. Also writing several articles and reports. I drove through Uganda and Rwanda just after October 1, 2010 United Report came out, accusing Rwanda and Uganda of genocide in Congo. By then, the last flickers of freedom in Rwanda were disappearing - the government was shutting down opposition parties and arresting those who dared to criticize its fascist (and pro-Western) regime.
