Located high in the mountains is one of the kitschiest places in Southeast Asia. Huge casinos, pop shows and enormous eateries. You can gamble but only if you are not Malaysian Muslim (they check at the entrance). You can gamble, however, if you are Indonesian Muslim, or come from the Gulf. Genting is reachable by one of the longest cable cars in Asia. The ride is worth it, as there is some native forest around, not just palm oil plantations like almost everywhere else in Malaysia
