After more than a decade back to the city where I was born. Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) where half of my family died during the monstrous siege of the city during the war. Where my grandmother fought German Nazis. Where half of the city vanished but saved the world from fascism. I did not want to be alone here but at the end I was, facing my family past, facing my own identity.
