I just wanted to tell you how much i liked your last piece on Counterpunch (Unite Against Imperialism!), it was both passionate and uplifting.
The part where you write :
"I also believe that internal opposition in Europe and the United States should stop being so picky, demanding purity and perfection from the countries that are fighting against their own Nazi rulers, the system and the Empire. It’s not the time to be too fussy.
Resistance forces are diverse, they are not always ideal and to everyone’s taste, but they are already saving millions of human lives."
is so true. Resistance against WW2 nazi Germany united very different people with very different ideological backgrounds (communists, christians, public servants, unionists...) who casted their squabbles aside to fight what they all recognized as Evil.
Whenever possible, i try to stand up and defend the brave president Maduro, the wonderful people and their rightful government in Iran and Syria, and of course, the current leader of the free world : Vladimir Putin. Unfortunately, in western Europe (in which i live and work), it's often a lone voice in the desert.
Most leftist parties are cowardly hanging on to any piece of scrap propaganda demonizing the resistance they can put their paws on, to justify their righteous condemnations and their wimpy adherence to Empire's wars and doctrine. This do not bodes well, and i fear the return of serfdom in our countries will only be stopped with a bloodbath, if it is to be stopped at all.
Thank you again for your work; you and Pepe Escobar are amongst my favourite Counterpunch writers.
Oh, and while it is true that major resistance publications are very rare in western Europe, if you can read french:
http://www.monde-diplomatique.fr (they can be too fussy sometimes, but its mostly solid, in depth analysis)
http://www.acrimed.org (deconstructing mainstream media discourse - focused on french media, but good)
And of course, the blog "Moon of Alabama", run by a german guy (which i'm sure you already know)
'Democracy is the way to give the people the greatest illusion of power while allowing them the smallest amount in reality' - Walter Bagehot, English Constitution, London, 1867.
Andre, you are a good man & you keep trying, but magic is what much of America is doing.
Comes the methane & the end.

Just read your touching post "How should we write and fight?". It's a great and provocative question. You lament about the apathy and inertia of people everywhere, and rightly so. Evil flourishes when good men do nothing. But WHY do they do nothing? Could it be we are simply daunted by the sheer magnitude of the corruption ? When a purely local problem appears,on a scale we can handle, we set ourselves to resolve the issue. But when there are so many issues, whose range is global, we feel overwhelmed, and just hope that evil collapses under its own burgeoning weight. After all evil is predicated on ignorance, and there is ALWAYS something it overlooks. It will trip itself up ....eventually. We just have to be patient. Perhaps that's really it. We're not apathetic. We KNOW, and we are patient. There is a natural law. It works. It is slow, but unstoppable. Evil will not prevail.
