Sadness of Paris
I came to Europe in March, to show my indonesian film at SOAS in London. I also took this opportunity to write about cowardice, in fact almost absolute prostitution of European art. For centuries it had been serving religious leaders, kings, aristocrats and merchants. There was almost no opposition in Western Europe. With some minor exceptions: Goya, Picasso, Dix, Munch.. But absolutely no acknowledgement, no outrage over what the West has been doing in the colonized world.
